Bitcoin Correlation (CIB)
Last updated
The CIB column, Correlation Index Bitcoin, shows how closely a coin’s price moves with Bitcoin on the selected timeframe.
The value ranges from −1 to +1:
Closer to +1: the coin follows BTC movements.
Around 0: the coin moves independently.
Closer to −1: the coin moves against Bitcoin.

Value: +0.7 to +1 Meaning: Strong positive correlation. The coin follows Bitcoin.
Value: −0.3 to +0.3 Meaning: Weak correlation. The coin moves relatively independently of BTC.
Value: −1 to −0.7 Meaning: Strong negative correlation. The coin moves against Bitcoin.
CIB shows the Pearson correlation coefficient. The system calculates it using logarithmic returns from the coin’s and Bitcoin’s closing prices over the last 30 candles on the selected timeframe.
The calculation uses returns, not raw prices. This reduces the effect of the overall trend and shows joint movement more accurately.
If the coin does not have enough history on the selected timeframe, the system does not calculate the value, and the column remains empty.
You can display the correlation calculation as an indicator on a TradingView chart.
Open the Tradingview chart window and click on the "Indicators" button.
Enter the name of the indicator "CIB" in the search box and select it from the list.

You can use the correlation indicator to compare the coin with other symbols, not only BTC. Select the required symbol in the indicator settings.
